The Position:
Milieu Counselor I (Full-Time and Part-Time)
The Children's Residential Program (CRP) serves the unique needs of children and youth, ages 5-21, who have varying levels of medical, emotional, physical and behavioural challenges. Client population includes level 12 Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) DCFS youth with mental health conditions. In a warm and loving home setting, children receive round-the-clock care, counseling and education designed to help them reach their highest level of independence.

An important component to the mental health services is family support. As the Family Partner, you will provide community resource support and emotional support for Junior Blind families receiving DMH services. The Family Partner will support families as a peer with similar experiences.

As part of the mental health services team, the Therapist/Case Manager will be integral to this expansion of services. Junior Blind is pleased to announce that it will be adding mental health services to its already enriched resource and service support for DCFS youth placed in our residential program. Mental Health services will also be available to youth approved for placement in our residential program but placed on a waiting list. Additionally, mental health services will be available to youth discharged from our residential program and returning to their homes or communities. Mental Health services will be provided by a multidisciplinary team.

In our continuing efforts to provide the best possible services, Junior Blind's group home initiative furthers our mission to helping children and adults who are blind, visually impaired or multi-disabled achieve independence. To aid us in this effort, the Group Home Program Manager/Administrator will provide program development, implementation, evaluation, and management of staff and residents living in the group homes in the community.

Bookkeeper (Full-Time)
Our Accounting team of detail-oriented and experienced team members in the finance and accounting fields handle the core accounting roles at Junior Blind. As the Bookkeeper, you will maintain all accounts payable in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. This includes matching invoices with approved purchase orders, entering invoices into the accounts payable system, processing invoices in a timely manner, ensuring invoices are paid on time, and month-end closing of accounts payable into the general ledger. Your strong analytical skills will enable you to handle data-intensive reconciliations and internal audit functions.

The Position:
Resource Specialist (Full-Time)
To enrich the existing programming in the Davidson Program for Independence and to provide additional individualized support to our students, we are excited to announce the addition of the Resource Specialist position to the DPI team. As the Resource Specialist, you will provide specialized support to participants within DPI who have needs related to Developmental Delay (DD) or Learning Disability (LD) in addition to visual impairment. You will modify curriculum to meet individualized student needs, provide individual instruction when necessary and determine when a student can be effectively included in classes.
