Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily living skills instruction including but not limited to tooth brushing, showering, dressing, bed-making, toilet training, eating and laundry.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and instruction of recreation activities such as swimming, bowling, gym, and dance on grounds and in community.
  • Drive students to appointments and provides transportation for school activities.
  • Accompanies students to community-based activities (shopping, recreation, money management, etc.).
  • Maintain logs on students regarding behavior or incidents for communication with school staff, parents, and residential staff.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and other agency/program meetings as scheduled.

The experienced candidate will possess:

  • Must have a minimum of 6 months of prior experience providing direct care and special services.
  • 2 years of college or AA degree from an accredited college or university in Child Development, Psychology or related field. Appropriate experience may be substituted for education.
  • Valid California Driver License and eligibility to drive agency vehicles.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Ability to function as a team member and follow through on recommendations from professional staff.
