The Position:
Milieu Counselor II (Full-Time and Part-Time shifts available)
As a Milieu Counselor II, you will join the CRP team to provide care, direct supervision and daily living skills instruction. You will assist in planning, organizing, and the instruction of recreational and therapeutic activities which promote developmental competencies and skills targeted to youth’s unique and special needs. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining student behavior/incidents logs for communication with school staff, parents and residential staff.
You will be provided weekly training on diagnosis, behavioral management and compliance mandates. To keep your job knowledge current you will attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and other agency meetings. You will be working closely with the social workers, county social workers, supervisors, nursing staff and behaviorists on resident cases as well as work collaboratively with other professionals. Working in the CRP there will be great opportunity in learning various diagnoses, medical conditions and mental health issues to expand your knowledge in Mental Health, which is an ever growing field.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Child Development, Special Education, Psychology, Human Services, Social Services or related field.
