BOBIK-high-resDedicated to "bringing out the best in kids," the Optimist Blind Youth Association (OBYA) has been a valued partner of Junior Blind for nearly eight years, bringing their mission to life at the Junior Blind Olympics.

As the only sporting event specially designed for children who are blind, visually impaired or multi-disabled, the Junior Blind Olympics evens the playing field for children with disabilities by allowing them to participate in fun, challenging and confidence-building activities.

IMG_4699Each year, the Optimists co-host the Olympics by volunteering at the event and supporting the out-of-state athletes with an extended weekend of activities while in Los Angeles, including taking in an audio-descriptive movie and vising Junior Blind's Camp Bloomfield.

"The Optimists are an integral part of the Olympics," says Miki Jordan, President and CEO of Junior Blind. "Their tireless efforts help more children attend the Olympics, learn to believe in themselves and achieve new goals. We feel honored to be able to work with them again this year and look forward to strengthening our partnership in years to come."
