The Spirit of Achievement was in the Air at the Junior Blind Olympics

Nearly one thousand athletes, family members, volunteers and supporters came out on Saturday, April 28th for the eighth annual Junior Blind Olympics presented by Junior Blind and the Optimist Blind Youth Association.

The determination and enthusiasm of the children played out beautifully, as they ran, jumped, climbed, rowed and, best of all, smiled with pride as they completed a variety of athletic pursuits. Their expressions of joy and accomplishment filled the campus and were a delight to witness.

Special guests included Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, California State Senator Curren Price, world champion power lifter Cody Colchado, Jr., and musician, composer and producer Cassandra O'Neal.

The event was sponsored by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, CVS/pharmacy, Echo Communicate, PXP and Wells Fargo.

Thanks to everyone who participated in making this day such a big success!
