The Position:
Therapist/Case Manager (Full-Time)
As part of the mental health services team, the Therapist/Case Manager will be integral to this expansion of services. As the Therapist/Case Manager, you will provide direct clinical and case management services to children in treatment and their families to provide clinical direction to the treatment team.
To do this, you will participate in the intake process, provide intensive clinical case management, crisis intervention and therapy to children and families, and work with various modalities including individual, group, and family therapy. You will assess psychotherapeutic and case management needs of children and families and develop a treatment plan agreed upon by the parent(s), placement agency, and treatment team.
In addition, you will provide crisis intervention to children and families in collaboration with the treatment team, develop and monitor working treatment goals and objectives with measurable outcomes, participate in treatment reviews, individual education plans (IEPs) and other case conferences, and develop agreed upon discharge plan and assess continuing care needs in collaboration with the clinical supervisor, parent(s), placement agency, and treatment team.
Requirements:
- M.S.W., M.A./M.S., or PH.D. in relevant field from an accredited graduate school.
- Must possess and maintain current professional license or intern registration toward attaining license.
- Minimum 2 years of mental health experience, with experience in providing direct clinical services to children with severe emotional/learning problems and their families, preferred.
- Demonstrated awareness of, sensitivity to, and competence in dealing with a culturally, socio-economically diverse client population.
- Ability to work collaboratively with members of interdisciplinary teams.
- Must possess and maintain a valid California Class "C" Driver License and a good DMV driving record.
